Richard Brunson

Experienced Musician and Teacher Richard Brunson

An accomplished music teacher based in South Bend, Indiana, Richard Brunson oversaw instrumental music and music education students during his time as an associate professor at Goshen College. Richard Brunson drew on his experience as an educator and performing musician to teach numerous music education courses, in addition to helping students develop aural skills and directing the orchestra.

Richard Brunson has also taught music with the Medford School District, the University of Wisconsin, Marshfield/Wood County, Salt Lake Community College, and Jordan School District in Sandy, Utah. He spent seven years as the artistic director of Central Chamber Chorale and eight years as the choir director at Faith Lutheran Church, both in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Dr. Brunson completed conducting and music education programs at Brigham Young University. He won the university’s MENC Professional Development Award. As a conducting student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he published the article “Thoughts on Vaughan Williams's The Pilgrim's Progress” in the Ralph Vaughan Williams Journal.
